Regarding the Deaths of Others

And the children who are dying of Covid-19, or a syndrome connected to it?  The young adults dying of strokes due to covid-19?  And if you're not with Trump, you're against him.  Always a good quality to have in a national leader.

Jake Tapper quotes him and raises another point:

A survey?  What, they did a poll, and Never Trumper Doctors were in the majority?  Is that how he imagines this is done?  Or is that his only way of understanding?

He's not only disgusting, he's as dumb as post and as useless as a stump.

  1. It's hard to explain how committed his followers are to hydroxychloroquine as a cure. I have watching a neighbor, a very person, the kind who is always the first to offer when help is needed, spiraling away on supporting every Trump position on the pandemic. He was a very moderate conservative, but has migrated literally into conspiracy territory. First it was touting on Facebook that coronavirus was nothing more than the flu. Then when Trump latched onto hydroxychloroquine as this magic cure, reposting articles from a series of right wing sources on how the drug is the cure. That faded away once the news starting coming back on the drugs failure, to be replace with more dubious and articles and fervent comments on ending the lock down, herd immunity, and now how the "Mainstream Media" (his scary quotes, not mine) is censoring the honest voices. With Trump's confession of taking hydroxychloroquine, the articles are back on its effectiveness and the lying studies denying the TRUTH. I am cynical enough to believe that Trump made the statement on taking the drug to fire up his base and draw them closer to him. The same applies to not wearing a mask. It's a message to his followers.

Watching normal people getting sucked down this hole is both disheartening and disconcerting. I fear a spike in deaths, and a very strong minority resistance to any reimposition of quarantine. Without general cooperation there will be little ability to control or reduce any outbreaks.
