“But our patience is wearing thin. And your refusal has cost all of us.”

Anybody else old enough to remember when checks went out after Biden took office, checks various GOP members of Congress voted against, but took credit for when they hit the mailbox/bank account?

Yeah, that's gonna happen again.

I expect Ken Paxton is crazy enough to sue Biden to stop the vaccine "mandate" via OSHA (nobody seems too concerned about making hospital staff get vaccinated.  Why is that?).  I don't expect that suit to get much further than the courthouse door.  I certainly don't expect a viable (i.e., lasting more than 10 minutes if it's issued) injunction against Biden's actions, either fitted to Texas or trying to be nationwide.

And then the word goes out informic, and vaccination rates start rising.  Yes, there'll be a few people like this:
And the general sentiment will be to applaud Rick Wilson's comment.  And that'll be the end of it.

And as cases of covid begin finally to decline, and as the need for masks in school, or anywhere else, finally begin to abate, those same GOP governors and officeholders either seeking power or just fundraising:
(I'm quite sure Hawley is one among hundreds in the House.)...will be running as fast as they can to get in front of the parade and to take credit for what they obviously opposed.  They'll probably say the mandates weren't needed after all, that the people saved themselves.

Hell, they might even believe it.

  1. My grand nephew got sent home from school having been exposed to Covid there along with a large number of other kids, and that's in a school in Maine with very high vaccination rates and where the schoolboard required masking for his age group. The schools will be forced to close down again because of the anti-vaxx-mask jerks.

I'm taking every opportunity I can to make people angry with them and, especially, the media, politicians, etc. who lie to them and sucker them. We don't have time for them to wise up, if the past year hasn't wised them up they won't be, they have to be shamed into obscurity and impotence.
