I have a small stock portfolio inherited from my father. I basically leave it alone, ignorant as I am of the ways of the market. Its value has increased significantly this year. More importantly, dividend payments (which is the real importance of my holdings) are up over expectations. First time I’ve seen that since I took possession.

I find it very good. And I still don’t find the stock market to be a leading economic indicator. Trump does, because Trump is stupid.

As I understand, most foreign markets are falling as America rises. It’s a problem, but it’s hardly the apocalypse. Besides, Trump wants to fix it with 18th century mercantile practices. It’s his only policy position, and it’s blinkered and stupid as he is.

Thus boy crying “WOLF!” schtick is already worn out.
