Hot Takes (It’s Saturday. I have other things to do.)

But we can’t afford healthcare. And we need a giant arch in D.C. Didn’t Obama do that? And aren’t Trump and MAGA still screaming about it? 🤔 It’s the thoughtlessness, stupid. Speaking collectively of “Boomers” is as mindless as speaking of Capricorns or “Aquarians.” Accident of birth does not determine anything about individuals or age groups. My father grew up, not with the term “gay,” but “homos.” Yet late in life, when he learned a friend of my generation (“Boomer.” I mean) was gay and ostracized by the congregation she grew up in, he was appalled. With them, not her. He had learned to think of people over labels.

Take the lesson. Because otherwise, you just sound like an asshole.

    We release frozen assets of theocrats and dictators, we hand tons of financial assistance- with promise of more- to authoritarian regimes who do nothing positive for their people, we release violent criminals who tried to overthrow an election and offer to pay them damages at the exact time we release financial crooks from their legal obligations to make restitution to their victims
