And what brings Christmas closer to a person than a Christmas Tree? We have several to offer at Chez Adventus, including the newest arrival:
Not a completely original idea, but we like to think we've made it our own, especially with the added decoration of pepper lights, one of the oldest (in terms of ownership, anyway) Xmas decorations in the house.
The cat admires it, too.
But of course, there are old standbys, including another Xmas decoration that actually pre-dates the pepper lights (well, all three of them do, if memory serves):
There is another cross-stitched Xmas tree picture available, but it isn't hanging up this year (the room where it usually hangs is about to be painted, so no Xmas decorations for you!), so it isn't available for the competition. The date on that one is cut off; it's "1983," I think. I'd have to go look again. I don't know if that's older than Opus, or younger; but it wouldn't be Xmas without him; or the ceramic tree with a bulb up its....trunk.
But wait, there's more!
I never thought it was such a bad little tree....
And yes, there is a tree with ornaments on it:
The pride of the collection this year is even visible in the middle "branch." The familiar blue box. Yes, yes it is....
A real tree was voted down, because of painting. Well, that and the cat likes to eat it and then leave it on bedspreads around the house, and while I get to clean that up, the other residents just objected to the mess and bother, so....
