Paul Ryan should be focusing on holding the Majority rather than giving his opinions on Birthright Citizenship, something he knows nothing about! Our new Republican Majority will work on this, Closing the Immigration Loopholes and Securing our Border!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 31, 2018
...you have to admit he really means it.
Of course, "means it" to Trump doesn't eliminate the fact this is largely a campaign issue to him. Once the elections are over he'll forget he ever brought this up. But that has more to do with his "what as I saying?" attention span than with any cunning strategy of deception and distraction.
For the time being, he's outraging other conservatives, and that's not entirely a bad thing.

I wonder if his attempting to bypass the 14th Amendment would constitute an impeachable offense, that is if he could do anything that would peal off enough Republican votes to get there. I doubt that.
ReplyDeleteI would imagine there are lots of Republicans this would impact, after all, if people can be stripped of their citizenship having been born here, why not for those who came after they were born. I'd love to deport the entire Murdoch clan.
