And we were doomed! And Trump was gonna win! And Republicans were gonna ruin everything!

(The DOJ was NOT going to represent a serious deadline to the courts and then say: "Oops! Never mind!" Not if they didn't want to lose their authority in court until long after they are under new management. And let's not hear again from "experts" saying the Supremes could hear September arguments just to reverse their June ruling.  Trumpmania is as real as the struggle.) And since we're on such subjects:

Yeah! Why hasn't Pelosi impeached Trump and removed him from office by now? (And did we elect Pelosi? 'Cause I missed that election. Trump is disgusting, as well as lawless. But without the Senate (and even then they might give us Andrew Johnson again), the POTUS has a lot of leeway. Until January 2021, we have to live with that.)
