President Donald Trump is expected to announce on Thursday that he is taking executive action to add a citizenship question to the census, according to an administration official.
Because the judges in New York and Maryland are gonna PLOTZ! I can't wait to see how the DOJ handles not only the rejection of their attempt to remove lawyers who have been screwed in the back by their client, AND defend what is plainly a contempt of court.
This, ladies and gentlemen, is what a Constitutional crisis looks like. Who gets to uphold the rule of law? The Courts? Or the President sworn to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States of America?
Who's hogging the popcorn? (Clarence Thomas might put up with this shit; the rest of the Court won't. But who decides? Will Trump push it that far? Maggie Haberman is dubious:)
Unclear whether the announcement potus makes this afternoon will be an executive action or something more like a presidential memorandum, per ppl briefed.— Maggie Haberman (@maggieNYT) July 11, 2019
I presume the distinction is one is an expression of opinion, the other is a directive to an executive agency. So one just pisses off the courts, the other actually gets up in their grill. Gotta get more popcorn!
