So, was this Speaker Pelosi tearing up the last surviving Tuskegee Airman?
Or was this Speaker Pelosi commenting on the content of the President's SOTU address?
Was this honoring a great American who had made significant contributions to public life?
Or was it a grandstanding gesture by a racist President honoring another notorious racist because the recipient of the award has a right-wing audience of 30 million listeners who will likely vote for Trump in November?
If Speaker Pelosis cheapened the solemnity of the occasion of the SOTU address with her action, did Trump cheapen it with his refusal to shake her hand as he handed her is speech? Or with the words of his speech? Or with his actions in bestowing the highest civilian honor in the land on a racist mouthpiece for his political base?
Maybe she was right; maybe tearing up a few pieces of paper was the only decent response possible.
