Who's going to listen?
Whe n the world of higher education emerges from the Covid-19 crisis, it won't look the same as it did when the academic year began last September, says David M. Perry for @CNNOpinion https://t.co/cFMZxOq8YZ— CNN (@CNN) April 16, 2020
As I may have mentioned, my college is already not planning to have face-to-face classes until at least 2021. Trump announcing "Back to work!" on May 1, or any time, will have no effect on that plan. And is he going to re-open day care and pre-schools and all the other places parents need their kids to be so the parents can go back to work? Most public schools are closed until at least the fall at this point. Trump can tell parents to go back to work and speak of "pent-up demand," but unless those parents can be sure of the safety and health of their children, that demand will remain pent-up. Or the unemployment number will remain stubbornly high. Is he even aware of that? I haven't read anything to indicate he is.
This is going to continue to be a real clustertrump.
