I'm not going to waste my time and you can't make me.OK, I read the expert affidavit and it's as bad as he says. It argues that if everybody voted for the same party in 2020 as they did in 2016, it's impossible that Biden won states Clinton lost.

It's ridiculous. And Texas is using it to try to invalidate other states' elections. pic.twitter.com/hCOPsls4vr
Nope. That's not gonna make me do it either. Because this is the level of "expertise" this witness brings to this subject:Chances of Biden winning Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia, Wisconsin independently after @realDonaldTrump’s early lead is less than one in a quadrillion:

➡️ 1 in 1,000,000,000,000,000
Chances of him winning collectively is “one in a quadrillion to the 4th power”

Basically, this witness read "Statistics for Dummies," and still didn't understand it. But he's hoping you’re as dumb as he is.He also - from his deep well of expertise in <checks notes> voter behavior, a subject in which he has no education or experience - opines that there would likely be a higher error rate in mail in ballots in 2020 and that GA must have had fewer signature rejections b/c shenanigans pic.twitter.com/VXz3AHn3rj

See? Rachel Maddow says Paxton is angling for a Presidential pardon for Christmas. I guess. Yes, the FBI is investigating him, but he's under indictment for violations of state law. The pardon won't touch that. I think he's just jumping on the political gravy train, because he's up for re-election in two years. The state indictment has, frankly, been a joke. That's why, in four years, he's never been tried. The prosecution was handed to court appointed private lawyers, and it's been a debacle from the git-go. Meanwhile there's grift, and there's this level of public obscenity:Motherfucker, we know they weren't statistically similar. Biden got a much higher percentage. You're "testing" to see whether my bank account and Patrick Mahomes' are statistically similar: they aren't.

An extraordinary position for these two senators to take, and a disgraceful one. https://t.co/X7z9wSHxjN

I think we'll have two Supreme Court dismissals by one sentence order within the week. The preliminary to that was docketing the case:#SCOTUS has ordered the states being sued by Texas over the election to respond to its filings by 3:00 EST on Thursday.
— Steve Vladeck (@steve_vladeck) December 8, 2020
Just like in @MikeKellyPA’s case, that the Court is asking for a response is not any indication that it’s planning to hear this case and/or grant Texas relief. pic.twitter.com/F92sKg92pw
This is roughly like saying "BOOM! FedEx tracking shows that my rebus-based marriage proposal to Scarlett Johansson has been DELIVERED!"https://t.co/znlskjG71O

Yeah, lots of legal geniuses out there.Just a reminder that many of the same “experts” who are insisting that #SCOTUS “docketing” the Texas case proves that they’re going to hear it made the *same* argument about the Court docketing Kelly’s emergency application.
— Steve Vladeck (@steve_vladeck) December 8, 2020
And we now see how that turned out... https://t.co/3XLJomzupN
I'm sure one of those legal geniuses could tell us.so what's above the supreme court does anyone know
— SupportTheTroupesHat (@Popehat) December 8, 2020
In defense of us non-lawyers, it's hard for us, at this point, to figure out what the courts wouldn't allow, they've allowed so much for the past four years. I think the Supremes know that Trump is a goner and they'll be padding the record to raise their own image, which should be pretty bad.
ReplyDeleteI'd known the courts would stand for a lot of nonsense- I think that in addition to his daddy spoiling Trump the courts have, too - but this past four years has really been a stunner to me.
