not only reflects reality, or describes it, but creates it. Including the “mulligan” that the virus doesn’t count because Trump didn’t know how to handle it. Not his fault, though. This is what they want to believe: that their bluntness, their "honesty," their "directness," is not childish and selfish, but bold and decisive. In truth, it's just selfish and boorish. That is now the hallmark of the “regular guy.” A spoiled brat, not a responsible adult.
But it isn't true for the rest of us.
