This is something I was wrong about. I thought if Trump was deplatformed he'd find a way to get his message out through alternative means. I underestimated how lazy he was and dependent on those platforms. https://t.co/95yQ2XPAcX

Wonder How That “Patriot’s Party” Is Coming Along?

Ah well, killing the Republican Party couldn't have been that easy. I didn't really believe Trump would do it, I think one of his biggest fears about the Senate trial is that a real trial may well bar him from running the grift of a 2024 run, which he must have been depending on to make money. I don't think he'd be able to get a spot on the shopping network to peddle pillows after the insurrection. Other than the loss of life and the injuries, I think the insurrection might have been helpful in the long run. It shattered the superstitions about the durability of democracy. I'm finding that the most insightful voices commenting on all of this is in Black media, Roland Martin has a messy podcast but it is full of insights I'm not hearing other places.
