Now we know why Patel and Bongino flew to Utah to “oversee” the investigation:
Investigators Thursday night apparently learned of the roommate and the text messages and Discord messages with the alleged suspect, McCabe said. He expects that investigators will be looking more into the roommate and the relationship with the suspect. That last sentence is partly referencing what the suspect told his roommate, which may come into evidence at trial.
And, of course, Patel went there to hog the glory. He had nothing to do with this. The suspect’s father turned him in (and my heart breaks for what that man had to do). And then Patel did this;Patel: Thanks to full weight of the federal government and leading out with partners in state of Utah and Governor Cox, the suspect was apprehended in a historic time period. pic.twitter.com/5WrJSAuf0g

*Bigfoot is a term I first read in the early ‘70’s in Tim O’Brien’s The Boys on the Bus, a book about political campaign coverage. “Bigfoot” was the term used when national columnists (opinion makers before the intertoobs took over; before it even existed) flying in to “see for themselves” at some campaign stop or primary state. Rather than enduring the long slog if the “boys on the bus.” (Did I mention this was the ‘70’s? Barbara Walters was still a novelty.) It was a derisive slur, not a reference to a mythical creature. The columnists had name recognition, and wrote the “narrative.” The regular reporters just wrote what their editors would print.
I thought Edward Norton and Stacy Keach both delivered powerful performances in American History X in 1998. Watching Norton as Pete Seeger opposite Timothee Chalamet's Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown was a striking departure from Norton in Fight Club and Keach in Mike Shayne or the boxer in Fat City as role models for youth.
