The president's (recently pardoned) former national security adviser, Mike Flynn, shared a message encouraging President Trump to "temporarily suspend the Constitution," impose martial law and "silence the destructive media." pic.twitter.com/cQh0wl7oWw
You’d think.I feel like the presidents recently pardoned former national security advisor calling for a military coup and martial law to overturn an election should be bigger news.

Yep, got to de-Nazify the officer corps. Right away.
ReplyDeleteEverybody blames Trump for that. I blame the "we are free because of our military" line of reasoning, which is so fundamentally un-American it might as well be the slogan of Nazi Germany.
ReplyDeleteThe problem, as ever, starts with what We the People support; or just tolerate. It's also pretty much the logical outcome of a standing military, which is why we didn't have one until after WWII and the "national security state" Truman ushered in (I never tire of pointing out FDR built the Pentagon as a document storage facility, not as a permanent military HQ. It was only meant to be used that way until WWII ended.)
