Those are people on April 17, 2020, lining up in San Antonio to get food from a food bank. There are similar pictures on local news as I type. Meanwhile, in the White House:
The president is increasingly playing in a social media bubble that most of the country isn’t living in, where 2016 is forever. Most of the country is either scared, or frustrated by the closures, or terrified about their finances. https://t.co/u8TKtk7qpW— Maggie Haberman (@maggieNYT) May 18, 2020
Thought that was worth repeating, in a context other than political Twitter. Local news also had a story of a man laid off from his job as a chemical handler. He was excited about the possibility of getting a meat cutting job with a grocery store. People are not walking back into jobs which have been waiting patiently for them.
