You Know, The Civil War…

...was necessary because of the flaws in the founding of this country (long before 1776).

And those flaws are still with us.

  1. Pompeo is a liar who the truth can't impinge on. Even discounting the promotion and protection of slavery embedded in the Constitution, the thing starting out with the Articles of Confederation seems to have been quite a problem for the founding generation as they abandoned it pretty fast as the veterans of the Revolution, cheated out of their pay and their rights and their livelihoods started to practice what the founders in the Declaration said was their right when the thing didn't work for them. Then there was the disaster of the election of the president and vice president which almost immediately led to disaster several times and had to be changed, then there is the fact that the pro-slavery aspects of it led to the Civil War after the Supreme Court turned Black People into non-people, though a number of the several states allowed them to vote, etc. The Dred Scott decision, among other things, overturned the provision in the Constitution requiring states to observe the rights of people granted to them by their state, their legal status, etc. and since it was the unelectted, lifetime appointed Supreme Court that did it, it was set in stone no matter how dishonest, hypocritical and purely evil it was.
Patriotism that requires lying to sustain itself is patriotism that is worth violating.
