The interesting part is, they still don't know how elections work. As in: they need a majority of the House to elect a speaker, not just the House members who agree with them. I honestly don't see the entire GOP House electing a non-member to be Speaker (whoever the "surprise" candidate is). That's not a ceremonial role, and I don't see them to a person unleashing such chaos on themselves for the next two years. Who is going to call the House to order and put a new set of rules on the floor stripping the Speaker of all authority, just so they can get committee appointments made?Rep.
