Major cities in America make a great public show of increasing the presence of security personnel on public transport, even though there is no history of any terrorist group striking in the same way nearly simultaneously in several countries. It is, in other words, about as rational to jump into panic mode because terrorists struck London as it is to fear your house on the East Coast will burn down because a lightning storm set a house on fire on the West Coast.
