Whose Side Are You On?


Going unmentioned here is the line-drawing:  "Democrat," not "Democratic."  Used to be that kind of insult was reserved for the fringes of white supremacists and reactionary conservatives.  Now it's mainstream and not even the subject of attention.

But the intent is clear:  you are with us, or you are with the enemy.  This is an old and long streak in American politics, and it hasn't gotten any less ugly.
