I know tout le Twitter is upset Trump said Nov. 3rd was the insurrection, and January 6 was the....well, I've already forgotten what he said. Trump is 2 full years away from even campaigning for the GOP nomination (will they just cancel their primaries and coronate him?). And a lot is going to happen before we get there:

He sounds kinda like Twitter (and tout le punditry) keeps telling me Biden supporters are supposed to sound:

"We supported President Trump for his fight for justice as well," said Griffin. "And for four years we cried 'lock her up. Lock her up. Lock her up.' We know she's a criminal. What did the president tell us? 'If I was in charge, you'd be in jail.'

"Ok, Mr. President, you've been in charge of the law for four years," he continued. "At the end of your four year time, the only ones locked up were men like me, and others like me, that have stood by the president the strongest."

He's got a point, actually.  Well, from his deranged and uninformed point of view. Trump has a point, too, but it's not one he should be making:

Wasn't failure to broaden his base one of the reasons Trump lost last November?  And now his hardest core base is going to jail?  Do we know for certain those people driving to those rallies actually vote?  Ever?

And yes, MSNBC found three people brave (or fool) enough to go on camera and insist they'd rather lose their jobs than be vaccinated.  Their wish was granted!  Three people!  That's roughly three times the number of people who started the Alice's Restaurant Anti-Massacree Movement.  I wonder if they have a hit song?

Let's go back a step and give that first tweet some context:

I'm sure that's going to serve him well in the primaries; but in the general?  It's dangerous to generalize, but I think a clown like would lose in Texas, even with "R" after his name on the ballot.

Does DeSantis think he's broadening his base nationally?  In Florida?

Politicians are always fighting the last war.  Sometimes that makes the last war fight them!
