This is absolutely true, but it is also true that one can be a shitposter in chief for a policy. That's one way the right became dominant -- shitposting professionalized with the help of actual Nazis.

(I will add that Gavin Newsom was playing the role of “Chief Shitposter” against Trump, and he had a media response team. But then the riots calmed down and attention shifted from California.  He kept tweeting, but his 15 minutes of shitposter fame had come to an end.)
