Two days after catastrophic floods roared through Central Texas, FEMA did not answer calls from thousands of survivors, documents show. https://t.co/cwxCzMAcDo

the times is reporting that fema let call center operator contracts expire on july 5, the day after the texas flood, and calls answered went from 99.7% that day to 36% the next to 16% the next
Abbott covered it with plenty of ass kissing:ICE Barbie was late renewing contracts for people who answer FEMA's disaster hotline so 2/3rds of the calls from Texans who needed help after the flood went unanswered. pic.twitter.com/7KKZOmF2Pl

Abbott, who sat to Trump’s left at the roundtable, said it was “the fastest I'm aware of any administration responding so swiftly, so collaboratively, so coordinated as we have in response to this.”Sure:
Noem now requires that all agency spending over $100,000 be personally approved by her, according to current and former FEMA officials. To prevent delays on the ground, on Monday FEMA officials created a task force to speed up the process of getting Noem’s approval, according to two people familiar with that unit. That would be the day Noem finally got FEMA personnel on the ground. Not soon enough to get that disaster hotline working again. Can’t have everything, I guess.
