Trump on the troops he's sending into cities: "They have to pass a toughness test, otherwise they're not working for us. And we're allowed to do that now according to the Supreme Court." pic.twitter.com/ati7DoCzp2

Nope.
A three-judge panel on Thursday said he was within his rights to order the troops into service to "protect federal personnel... [and] property". Trump called it a "big win".That was the 9th circuit, not the Supremes. And the opinion was based narrowly on protection of federal property and personnel. The protests, if you recall, were around the federal building in LA.
Are there any protests around the federal buildings/courthouses in Chicago? New York?
In the same case, California sued to enforce the Posse Comitatus Act, against the deployment of Marines. The trial court hasn’t ruled on the matter, and nothing from that case has gone to the Supremes.
Trump still has no authority to do what he’s blathering about, and his time in D.C. is running out.
