So the rich don’t want to pay taxes, but do want to give the government $135 million for the military payroll because of the shutdown. Which just happens to be what Trump promised to do, but couldn’t?What do you notice about their reactions to him https://t.co/NKo5LJ1R04 pic.twitter.com/RcayHv2J4J

Even Trump’s sycophantic Cabinet don’t want to be in the same room with that one.
And Trump can’t say who it is because they want to remain anonymous? Are we sure he didn’t send money to a Nigerian prince who promised to repay him? That one would be more plausible.
BTW, Trump shifted $6.5 billion to cover military pay, short of the $8 billion he promised (because that was all he could do). And the next payday is Hallowe’en. $135 million, even in non-imaginary dollars, is not even a drop in that bucket. I think someone rich enough to write that check would know that.
I know; take Trump too literally, and you punch the tar baby. The real story is: Trump’s scared shitless of the consequences of this shutdown, especially because he can’t pay the military without cooperating with the Democrats. So what does he do? Shit? Or go blind?
He certainly can’t make a deal. He literally has no idea how to do that.
All of this has its origin in the Roberts Court's imperial decision granting Trump immunity from prosecution and the media's decision to make Republicans kings - which goes back at least to Reagan.
ReplyDeleteSince Graham Platner has imploded due to his drunk tattooing and drunk posting (I assume that was when he was drunk and not when he decided to run for the Senate [my brother said, "it was too good to be true"]) I'm advising Janet Mills to say her one and only term in the Senate would be devoted to the drafting and adoption of amendments overturning the Roberts Court's horrific decisions destroying the republic as well as democracy.
