But Let’s Not Be Reasonable, Right?

A modest proposal:
instead of saying this was good strategy, maybe senate dems should say: "the republicans were going to kill people by starving them to death, and because we aren't monsters, we decided to let this fight go. We'll keep fighting. Stop electing monsters."
Somehow, I think that resonates more than “Schumer must go!”

But maybe that’s just me.

  1. It's certainly not just you. I thought exactly the same, and I've wondered why I'm not hearing it in public. When the other side resorts to using kids as human shields, you have to find another way.

    1. From what I’m reading, outrage at the Democrats is all coming from the terminally online professionally outraged. The GOP insists 8 (or is it 5?) Senators have the right to demand $500,000 apiece because Jack Smith legally subpoenaed public records. And they don’t want any oversight of Trump’s ballroom. I think what the shutdown exposed is the winning issue here.

    2. Adding: and yes, exactly. Starving people, especially at Thanksgiving, is no way to claim the moral high ground (especially since you don’t have the majority in Congress).
