Or, why most state fairs are not scheduled in the summer.

(And global warming is a hoax!)

  1. That's true even here in Maine where most of the fairs are in either late summer or the fall. I remember going to the Freyberg fair, traditionally the last one in the schedule, on October 10, I think it was, when there were some snowflakes in the air up there in the hills. Now that's a good fair, the kind that has a midway. Second cleanest and well maintained fairgrounds I've ever seen.

  2. The Texas State Fair runs from late September through mid October. The East Texas Fair I attended as a kid was in October, IIRC.
