Local health officials can only intervene if there is a coronavirus outbreak once students return to campus. https://t.co/ntfgAesWah
We can't prevent the barn fire, or let the horses out of the barn until it is on fire. As for private schools saving us all from the idiocy (who the idiots are depends on which side of the political divide you are on) of those in charge:
The fewer students in classrooms, the more income lost for private schools. But if they fall short on safety, they are more vulnerable to lawsuits than public schools. https://t.co/jK0s0J0Pte— Texas Tribune (@TexasTribune) August 5, 2020
This reminds me, more and more, of a child custody fight in a divorce case. Once again, the children are the pawns and the battlefield. The parents who can't escape to private schools trying to spite the public schools (some actually claim they will withhold their taxes in a "tax revolt." All that will do is gain them penalties and possible foreclosure.) will soon blame the schools for opening again. Just as soon as the schools have to close because the barn is finally on fire and we can finally "protect" it.
By pouring kerosene on it, as it burns.
