“Don’t It Always Seem To Go…

The share of Americans who think the economy is on the wrong track rose to 53% in the latest poll from 43% in the January 24-26 poll," Reuters writes. "Public approval of Trump's economic stewardship fell to 39% from 43% in the prior poll." 
The decline in Trump's approval on the economy has come as inflation unexpectedly surged back to three percent during his first month in office, with the prices of key grocery staples such as eggs and coffee taking a particular toll on consumers' pocketbooks. 
Additionally, the poll found that Trump's signature economic policy of slapping tariffs on imported goods had become unpopular, with 54 percent of respondents opposed and 41 percent of respondents in favor.
Wait ‘til the layoffs sink in, and the recession starts because consumer spending sharply declines.


The U.S. Department of Agriculture said Tuesday that, over the weekend, it accidentally fired "several" agency employees who are working on the federal government's response to the H5N1 avian flu outbreak. 
The agency said it is now trying to quickly reverse the firings.

I went on an egg hunt tonight. I only found them in one store, at prices ranging from $7.99 to $15.99 a dozen. The other 3 stores I hit had no eggs whatsoever. 
I also saw a $17.99 roll of aluminum foil. 
Wonder what the inflation-kvetching Trump voters are making of this.

They arrived at the United States border from around the world, hoping to seek asylum. Instead, they were detained, shackled and flown by the U.S. military to a faraway country, Panama. 
They were stripped of their passports and most of their cellphones, they said, and then locked in a hotel, barred from seeing lawyers and told they would soon be sent to a makeshift camp near the Panamanian jungle. 
At the hotel, at least one person tried to commit suicide, according to several migrants. Another broke his leg trying to escape. A third sent a plaintive missive from a hidden cellphone: “Only a miracle can save us.” 
When President Trump took office in January, his plan for sweeping deportations faced a major challenge: what to do with migrants from countries like Afghanistan, Iran and China where the United States cannot easily send deportees, because the other nations will not accept migrants or for other reasons.

Fuck ‘em. They’re foreigners. I mean, it’s not like they’re white South Africans. 

Now it will be Panamanian officials who decide what happens to them. Because the deported migrants are no longer on U.S. soil, Washington is not legally obligated to make sure they are treated humanely or have the chance to seek asylum.
(The cruelty really is the point.) Just say no. A/k/a, the “I” in “DEI.” It’s always the other guy who’s “waste, fraud and abuse.”
A Northern Virginia couple is hashing out their next steps after the husband, a 13-year, disabled military veteran and nearly two-year information technology technician with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, was fired Monday, as part of the newly created Department of Government Efficiency’s efforts to shrink the federal workforce.
