"Monumental Damage was done to all Nuclear sites in Iran, as shown by satellite images. Obliteration is an accurate term!" Trump wrote Sunday night. "The white structure shown is deeply imbedded into the rock, with even its roof well below ground level, and completely shielded from flame. The biggest damage took place far below ground level."
Is he Superman? Does he have x-ray vision as well as telescopic vision? If not, then HOW DOES HE KNOW?!? If the structure is “far below ground level,” how does anyone without boots on the ground in Iran, know? The information can be obtained. But I don’t see how anyone in America has verifiable information on the condition of the locations tonight. Same question. First, though, what the hell is the value of Scott’s estimation? Is he an expert in this area? Because if he was, he’d know better and keep his baseless estimations to himself.

This is propaganda as baseless as the “body count” reports from Vietnam every day on the nightly news. I’ve seen government lie before, hoping against hope to catch up with reality or to keep its secrets.  Trump didn’t invent this, he’s just not very good at it. The irony is, it was those lies that taught us to distrust government, a distrust that started out with liberals and moved over to conservatives (like long haired men eventually became a redneck thing). Everything old is new again, and none of it points inexorably to the fall of Western civilization. I’m beginning to think this is all as American as racism and xenophobia: just another thing we tell ourselves never really happened, and every time it becomes impossible to ignore, we act like it came from outer space. Or from the commies under the bed. And it will be the end of us because we were such a pure and holy people once, before this evil corrupted us. Right back at ya, little man. And Crenshaw is an avatar of what I’m talking about. Starting with your boss?
Wait, isn’t the country under attack in this scenario Iran? From Israel?

Do these people ever listen to themselves?

    I've been hearing that real experts expect that now, with Trump having successfully scuttled the Obama deal with Iran and now attacking them on behalf of Israel that it has guaranteed that Iran will, despite the Fatwa issued against them, develop a the bomb. Especially if, as has also been anticipated, the Islamic republic is replaced by a secular regime. That fatwa issued by Khamenei against it may have been the most important obstruction to that, which would be ironic if that's the case.

    Well, the agreement Obama negotiated (JPSCOA, I think), was, by all rational accounts, working. Trump tore that up , decided he wanted it back, then decided he wanted to be “tough.” Now he’s screaming into the void that oil prices better not go up, as the Strait of Hormuz shuts down. Apparently it never occurred to him that Iran had that option. Or nobody mentioned it to him.

    A true confederacy of dunces.
