Lindsey's pseudo-populist rant contains the seeds of its own destruction. The logical conclusion is Medicare for all. I mean, the critique is not wrong. But it’s the new black of the GOP: “FUCK THE POOR.”  This “let them eat cake” attitude right before the major holiday season in America, the very holidays that revolve around food and charity toward the poor, is as mind-blowingly self-destructive as anything I’ve ever seen. It’s the MAGA (there is no GOP anymore) response to the latest election results.  Even MTG understands that.

But MAGA refuses to. Democratic societies tend to be swayed towards cruelty (American slavery; Jim

Crow; the poor deserve poverty; “Three generations of imbeciles are enough!”). And then they see it up close and personal, and turn against it. Seldom permanently, but they reject the stupidity and the cruelty when they realize what they’ve allowed.

This moment is the pendulum moving in that direction. It isn’t noble. It’s all a matter of whose ox is being gored. But MAGA thought they’d won ultimate power. They’re finding out they didn’t.

MAGA never had a plan for governing. They only had a plan for being in charge. Ten months in, and their plans are being fed to the wood chipper.  And they have absolutely no idea what to do about it.
