Read the text of “O Adonai” while watching the video, it struck me that some of these Antiphons play a role similar to the Easter vigil scripture ms that recall the salvation history of the Hebrew Scriptures, and put it in a Christian context. Some of the Antiphons do that explicitly, some implicitly. The subject of salvation is not surprising at Advent (what else are we preparing for?), although lately I think the nature of the salvation is far more physical than metaphysical, which is the version I was brought up on.
Anyway, something to consider for the next seven days.
