Barak Ravid of Axios now saying that Ukrainian Oresident Volodymyr Zelensky has told him that the recently announced energy ceasefire was “news to [him],” adding that if Russia agrees to such a dynamic then they will as well.

Analyst Comment: It should be noted that both sides have reasons to not abide by such a ceasefire, with Ukraine looking to beggar Russian energy export ventures and Russia looking to tax Ukraine’s energy grid during the winter months. Amongst others, it’s these reasons why the past 4-5 “energy ceasefire” announcements have amounted to very little if anything at all.
