Old Man Shouts At Clouds 🌧️

Trump: "It has just been determined that the Democrats in Alaska illegally searched for, and recruited, a man named Dan Sullivan to run against our distinguished Republican Senator, Dan Sullivan, in order to defraud, confuse, and obfuscate the Election, thereby taking votes away from the REAL Senator, Dan Sullivan. The New York Times reports that, 'Democrats have insisted they have nothing to do with the other Dan Sullivan on Alaska’s Senate ballot. But aides with the Mary Peltola campaign and DSCC were part of a monthslong secret plan to recruit him to run — as well as other candidates.' The Democrats’ false statements were made under oath in Federal Court. Therefore, they perjured themselves, and should be liable for very serious consequences. Mary Peltola should suffer the Legal and Political consequences for what she has done, A FRAUD ON THE AMERICAN PUBLIC, and Dan Sullivan should be allowed to run without either Mary Peltola or FAKE Dan Sullivan on the Ballot. President DONALD J. TRUMP"
It has not ”been determined,” it has been reported. By the NYT, the same paper that missed most of Watergate, credulously reported on Whitewater (the corruption in Arkansas that led to the Lewinsky stuff), and swallowed “WMD” in Iraq hook, line, and sinker. Remind me, did they ever find any?

Did Peltola recruit Sullivan? SO FUCKING WHAT?

Statements were made in Federal Court under oath? When? There was a case in state court, but I don’t know how Peltola campaign workers can be hailed into the newly filed federal case before the Court has heard arguments for dismissal for failure to state a cause of action. (And false statements don’t = perjury, especially when you’re evidence us the NYT.)

And will someone please explain to the dunderhead in the Oval Office what “fraud” is. He’s committed enough of it, he ought to know by now.
The law of “DEMOCRATS ARE UNFAIR!!” (Trump’s DOJ can’t even make a civil case out of this.) That, and he really thinks he’s got something with this “perjury” claim. (No, those aren’t scare quotes. This isn’t perjury.) Then he had to beat that dead horse one more time, perhaps expecting it to finally get legs: Again, not election fraud. Not even close. As for “lying to the court,” is he switching to the state case? Probably not, but the Peltola campaign doesn’t have a dog in either court fight (the finished state one, or the nascent federal one).  Those cases go to the state authority responsible for ballots. I can’t imagine a reason a representative of the Peltola campaign would testify in the state court proceedings. And I’m quite sure Trump hasn’t read whatever trial court transcripts went up on appeal, looking for evidence of “cheating.” This is just an old man shouting at clouds because he didn’t get his vanilla pudding at the evening meal in the home.

His DOJ has no grounds, nor mechanism, to disqualify Peltola or Sullivan. Blanche has admitted as much:
What he’s asking for is an advisory opinion. Courts don’t do advisory opinions. DOJ can come back after the election, when (if) they have valid grounds for a valid (legal) concern. That’s right. So far, they don’t have anything.

Maybe Peltola’s campaign did it, and it’s dirty politics. But even Trump recognizes it isn’t really criminal, because he keeps trying to shoehorn it into a perjury charge. And that’s because he watched too many fake courtroom dramas for too many years. Yes, he’s “threatening serious consequences.” But his threats are as empty as his head.
