Some Of the Time

...but not all the people all the time.

  1. Barr did what he could to protect Trump and not completely and utterly disgrace himself. Thanks to Trump's AG, Trump and Trumpsters will have had nearly a month to spin the report as "complete exoneration" of Trump and, for that matter, exonerate Barr himself for his four-page strange and completely inadequate letter, or summary, or whatever else he wants to call his initial release.

Barr did his duty to Trump, but he did not do his just and fair duty to the American people and their representatives in Congress. We'll see how far he dares to go with redactions.

  2. I'm not sure Barr didn't utterly disgrace himself. I'm very agnostic about the Mueller report, since we don't have any report from Mueller affirming or denying the letter.

And, importantly, it seems most people aren't concerned with Barr's spin, or Trump's. I don't want the report being so important it becomes a football. I think Trump falls on his own, and this kind of news convinces me of that.

    YMMV, of course. 😀

  3. I agree it's quite difficult for a Republican to disgrace him/herself with fellow Republicans. I don't know what it would take.

I also agree with Sargent that Barr expected more positive impact. I doubt if anything in the Mueller report will change minds, but with the drip, drip, drip of scandal Trump's poll ratings may continue in the slow decline.
