Sorry but this is not a press conference - it’s an opportunity for Barr to put a spin on the ball or defend himself. No one can ask real questions here. https://t.co/dNTLk95iPX— Maggie Haberman (@maggieNYT) April 17, 2019
Nice work, if you can get it.And they're barring (get it) White House hard pass holders and Congressional press pass holders from the conference, making it DOJ press only.— Nikki Schwab (@NikkiSchwab) April 17, 2019
BARR: "The special counsel found no evidence that any American, including anyone associated with the Trump campaign, conspired or coordinated with the Russian government or the IRS in this illegal scheme... the special counsel found no collusion." pic.twitter.com/UQFRqgKL9z— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) April 18, 2019
Barr justifies his call (w/Rosenstein) to clear Trump of obstruction: "Trump faced an unprecedented situation. As he entered office & sought to perform his responsibilities, prosecutors were scrutinizing his conduct... yet, as he said from the beginning, there was no collusion." pic.twitter.com/o4rYEWBkvg— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) April 18, 2019
William Barr us a lawyer, which means he knows that "collusion" is not a legal term if art.) He might as well be saying"There was no blue mud."
Except he knows exactly what he's saying.
This press conference is "Exhibit A."REPORTER: A judge has expressed concerns about your redactions. POTUS is fundraising on your remarks about 'spying.' What do you say to folks who are concerned you're trying to protect the president?

BARR: I'm not sure what you're basis is for saying I'm being generous to POTUS. pic.twitter.com/0LgNVldiCN
Yup.There will be a lot of commentary on this set of words, which has been the defense from Trump personal attorneys, and which Barr included in his remarks. https://t.co/bflkMIB0Ao

Good news, boys and girls. If you grow up to be President you can't obstruct justice so long as you're frustrated.

All I needed to see was Rosenstein standing there to know that Mueller's investigation was under the supervision of a Republican hack. I figured he was like this all along. I am sure Mueller knew.
ReplyDeleteI'm expecting if we hear any real push back it won't be from Mueller, it will be some of the others who conducted the investigation. I am not counting on Mueller to give a full account of himself and his investigation or he'd have done something by now.
