It doesn’t merely “represent French culture.” It. Is. A. Holy. Site. I have had the Sacrament of Reconciliation in both English and French here. Please do not diminish the religious importance by portraying it merely as a monument in Paris.

I just saw that scene on Radio France International, it really shows how terrible it was. I remember one of my old, old friends reaction when the Notre Dame Church in Fall River MA burned down. She hadn't lived there for years but she said it broke her heart when she heard about it.
