As Maggie Haberman sometimes does on Twitter, this raises more questions than it answers:
a) so the tweets are more jokes, and he's going despite what he tweeted?
b) he has other, more subtle and serious reasons, to cancel the trip, but he is covering them by looking foolish (when he's really crazy like a Fox(News)?
c) somebody hacked his Twitter account?
d) there is a distinction between why he scheduled the trip, and why he cancelled it? Or the reason he scheduled it and cancelled it are the same, but it's not this reason?
Maybe in the days to come more reasons and excuses will come out, but in the meantime, we're left agreeing with George Conway:
.@realDonaldTrump, could you please try to pace yourself? Could you try limiting yourself to embarrassing the nation, say, just once a day instead of doing it every couple of hours? https://t.co/kRhaHmxvdr— George Conway (@gtconway3d) August 20, 2019
Whatever the answer, it's not good enough for being such an international joke.Unanswered question: What's the real reason Trump didn't want to go to Denmark that he's blaming on the Greenland thing?— Maggie Haberman (@maggieNYT) August 21, 2019
okay so today the president said jews are stupid and got mad when he couldn't buy greenland— Megan Amram (@meganamram) August 21, 2019
