Jared Kushner is in charge of the medical supply chain that delivers critical items to the doctors and nurses who are on the frontlines everyday. Yesterday he said it was “OURS”, so I asked what he meant. Trump did not like the question. https://t.co/pZfQiNVWne— Weijia Jiang (@weijia) April 3, 2020
"I gave you a perfect answer, you know it."
Hmm. Perfectly incoherent. So "our" means the whole country, but only certain states can get the "10,000 ventilators" which are "ready to rock" and who those states are has not been decided yet because its "our" decision as to who is...worthy? Nice enough? Obsequious enough?
TRUMP: "We have a stockpile. It is a federal stockpile. We can use it for states, or we can use it for ourselves. We do use it for the federal government. We have a very big federal government." pic.twitter.com/1MdFHpP7Lz— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) April 3, 2020
It was an appalling thing for Kushner to say, and Trump shed no light, except on his incompetence and indifference and complete inability to govern. Oh, and apparently the federal government is projecting a need for ventilators for...the federal government. By the way Gov. Cuomo: you're screwed:
.@jonkarl: Cuomo says NY may be days away from running out of ventilators. Can you assure NY that they will have the ventilators they need?— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) April 3, 2020
TRUMP: "No. They should've had more ventilators at the time. They should've had more ventilators." pic.twitter.com/j2I94iiXas
Fuck New York, amirite?

I think no. 2 there is the right answer, and no. 1 is the "if we had a mature and rational adult in the Oval Office" wishful thinking/accepted wisdom answer. Bullshit, in other words, and as applicable to the present situation as a Monty Python sketch. The President is a man who won't accept responsibility for dialing a wrong number.
And now for something completely different:

Remember when Trump said voting by mail would mean Republicans would never get elected again?
Trump ends the press briefing with some thoughts on voting rights: "I think a lot of people cheat with mail-in voting. I think people should with ID -- voter ID ... you should have a picture for voting. It should be called voter ID." pic.twitter.com/0ehNlxao3H— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) April 3, 2020
Well....

He was just being a racist. He wasn't telling the truth. He was arguing only the "right" people should vote by mail.
"The interplay was a rare instance of Mr. Trump doing in real time on camera what officials have repeatedly denied that he does behind the scenes — attempting to water down the impact of what the medical experts were saying."https://t.co/HDHKutFdKM— Maggie Haberman (@maggieNYT) April 4, 2020
His tone sure has changed, hasn't it?
