When is Dan Patrick Going to STFU?

Dan Patrick says he was "misreported," and that "everyone knew what I meant."  Yes, we did, as that quote above clearly shows, and no, quoting you exactly is not "misreporting" what you said.

“What I said when I was with you that night is there are more important things than living. And that’s saving this country for my children and my grandchildren and saving this country for all of us,” Patrick said. “I don’t want to die, nobody wants to die, but man we’ve got to take some risks and get back in the game and get this country back up and running.”

And yes, there is videotape.  (and no, Patrick is not "gaslighting."  Patrick is simply lying, and hoping you believe him, not your eyes and ears.)  So first:  what is more important than living?  Money, apparently.  The country is only saved if the markets are up and running and making money.  Everything else is irrelevant.  As for the risks, why doesn't he go first?

Since it's not a problem, go volunteer in a nursing home for a week.

Dan Patrick could lead the way on that effort.  He'll be doing the nation a favor, and putting himself at risk, just like he wants everybody in salons and barbershops to do.  Lead on, Lite Guv.

Yes, salons and barbershops:

“We’ve seen an overwhelming amount of deaths and illnesses in this country,” the Fox News host observed. “But the grocery store could be a different scenario, right? Because you can social distance when you walk in the door.”

“The point is that salons and spas and barber shops, you can’t,” she said.

“Sure, you can!” Patrick shot back. “Leave it up to the American people and the American business person to set that up.”

Quick question:  how does my barber cut my hair from 6 feet away?  Or shampoo my wife's hair, and then cut it?

And there have been reports of grocery store employees coming down with covid-19.  Guess they took one for the team, huh, Dan?  Something even you aren't willing to risk.  And they did it mostly on minimum wage and, I'll warrant, largely without health insurance.  Because we left that up to American business people to set up, didn't we?

Go away, Dan; you're embarasssing the state I'm proud to call home.
