In fact, I’m pretty sure the press corps complained because Obama had too many press conferences, and gave answers that were thoughtful and long and sucked all the air out of the room.

The DC Press Corps is useless. I don't know if it's still true but they used to regularly survey of being to the right of even most journalists and they were never liberal as a body. I couldn't care less that President Biden doesn't talk to them, he talks to the People.
