Feature, Not Bug

It's starting to feel that not having a jury trial wasn't a mistake, but a deliberate attempt to set up a "villain" in the judge so they could paint him as corrupt, and spin THAT story rather than accept that Trump actually did the things he did. This is a nightmare for the rule of law.
I’m pretty sure there was a decision, not a mistake, or Trump would have fired Hanna’s by now. Whatever the strategy is, it’s a stupid one.

But “a nightmare for the rule of law”? The nightmare would be if the R of L was that fragile. It would never have made it this far.

That tweet is accompanied by a clip of Lindsey Graham whinging to Sean Hannity:
Graham: We’re not going to let New York get away with this. This judge is a joke!
Nobody knows what Lindsey thinks “we” are going to do (is there a mouse in his pocket?), but all I can think is he’s going to travel to Manhattan, walk up to that judge, and “give him such a pinch!”🤏

If he even does that.

Defaming the judge's clerk is top-notch galaxy brain; Trump gains nothing from it while pissing off everyone in the entire court system.
(FYI, clerks aren't all recent grads. She's been a lawyer since 2010 and Judge Engoron's principal clerk for nearly five years.)
Which is also accompanied by a tweet:
One of the reasons Trump was playing with fire going after *this* clerk:
She's an active participant in Engoron's cases, and she sometimes personally questions the parties. In fact, she grilled Trump's lawyers in critical pre-trial hearings in this case.
Not exculpatory, just enlightening.

Jack Posobiec tweeted that Trump’s attack on the clerk was “Straight gangster.” Wonder how he feels about his gangster folding like a cheap suit a few hours later?
