Pictures From The Gone World

Keeping up with the latest:
Their party leader is in a fraud trial, their Speaker is facing a mutiny, and their Senate leader is the most hated person in Congress by their own voters.
Donald Trump’s Republican Party.
So much winning!
Trump, on Truth Social, is attacking Judge Engoron's *clerk," — who is literally in the courtroom with him — while calling her "Chuck Schumer's girlfriend" and posting a link to her Instagram account.
I suspect this will be an exhibit in some gag order arguments.
(Sooner than you think, as it turns out.) For context, Trump says:
Schumer's girlfriend, Alison R. Greenfield, is running this case against me. How disgraceful! This case should be dismissed immediately!!
I guess the worst insult he can conjure is that a woman is controlling a man. (There’s a picture of this clerk with Schumer, probably taken at a public appearance/NY Dem party affair. The kind of photo public officials pose for all the time. So how many girlfriends does this mean Trump has? They really are running out of ideas.)

Trump: There can't be fraud when you tell institutions to do their own work.
I really (!) don’t understand why Trump doesn’t fire his lawyers and represent himself. He’d do as well as he’s going to do now, and he wouldn’t have to pay them. He thinks he knows the law better than anyone in the room, anyway.
Trump, back in court today in NYC, claims Mar-a-Lago is worth $1.5 billion 😂
The only import of this is that Trump commits fraud the way other people breathe. Which is not really going to help him when that’s exactly what he’s on trial for. AG James really (seriously) needs to get this in the record for the appeal. He also added to that statement:
We recently sold two properties for many times what they were worth." Please do tell us more about that, Mr. Trump. Why would someone play 'many times' more than they were worth?
Inquiring minds want to know!

Trump: Nobody is supposed to know my net worth. Now everybody is and will. I hope you’re impressed
A toddler with a shotgun is more aware of circumstances.

And another reminder that this is NOT what this trial is about:
NEW YORK — A civil trial over alleged business fraud by former president Donald Trump and his company began Monday, with attorneys for New York Attorney General Letitia James and Trump presenting opposing views on whether he misrepresented business deals by drastically inflating the value of his real estate properies.
Even WaPo can’t get it right. Who knew summary judgment was so hard? (Everything in that paragraph was decided in summary judgment last week. How many times do we have to repeat this?)

Trump was reportedly brought back into the courtroom after leaving for lunch. The doors were then closed for session between the attorneys, Trump, and the judge. Trump then deleted the post.
What a pity the doors were closed. But this gives us an idea:
“Personal attacks on members on my court staff are unacceptable, inappropriate, and I won't tolerate it [in my court]...Consider this statement a gag order forbidding all parties from posting or publicly speaking about any member of my staff. Failure to abide by this order will result in serious sanctions."
Later tonight we’ll get the “ELECTION INTERFERENCE!”  and “Muh First Amendment!” cries on Truth Social.
