🧊 πŸ—³️

I apologize in advance for not having the link to this, but I read a story early this morning about the decline of Jack in the Box restaurants. It was a local story about JB restaurants closing in Houston, which apparently has the largest number of such restaurants for any city in the country (or second largest, or whatever). Basically, JB is losing customers.

The article went on to note another restaurant chain, also losing customers; both losses were tied to Hispanics no longer going out. Why? ICE, ICE, baby. Going out for fast food or a dinner ain’t worth the risk.

Now, ICE is unafraid to go to federal court and wait in the hall on immigration hearings. Trump is convinced non-citizens are voting for Democrats, so how likely is it that Hispanic voters decide they won’t because ICE will be waiting at polling places? Whether ICE is there, or not, why take the risk?

The Washington Post reported that Hispanics in Texas who voted for Trump aren’t that excited about him or his party, between poor economic results and ICE running amok.  The Post framed it as why redistricting may not work; because those voters may stay home.

ICE might be a stronger incentive not to stand in line.

Trump really is his own worst enemy.
