Literally Unbelievable

The GDP, according to the Department of Commerce, is estimated to be $30.31 trillion. Bessent is saying tariffs and non-existent deals will increase that by fully one-third.

During the Vietnam War, they talked about the “Credibility Gap,” meaning the lies being told about the war by the government, and the reality of the war never changing. (Adding up the daily “death count” alone meant that North Vietnamese were the most fecund people on the planet, with their children aging to late adolescence in only a matter of months. It was the only explanation for how they could sustain such losses yet never run out of soldiers. Outside of the “radicals,” no one ever pointed that out.) Yeah, the “credibility gap” wasn’t limited to what government officials said. A lot of people were involved.

An annual increase in GDP of 3% is considered good. Bessent us trying to say it will increase 10 times that rate. Again, based on tariffs paid by Americans, and deals that aren’t even reduced to writing.  Smoke and mirrors and lies.

I’d say there’ll be a price to pay, but Dick Cheney never paid one, and Bill Barr has returned to public attention to tell more lies about what the law isn’t. What harm is that going to do him?
Beto is right. There are no rules, and there are no fucking refs.
