He Was Not An American

He was an immigrant. He brought slavery to the continents much later to be called the “Americas.” More specifically, in present day central and South America. 

The glory he brought was the later devastation of those continents by the Spanish. Oh, and slavery.

He made 4 voyages there, not “here” as the State Department identifies it, and died in Spain. He was dead a year before the name “America” was attached to the continent by German cartographers.
