When Politics Stopped At The Water’s Edge

Trump to Israeli Knesset: "As you know, we decisively won World War 1. We decisively won World War 2, decisively, and everything in between and everything before it. We won everything and then they had the brilliant idea of changing the name from 'war' to 'defense.' And with that went a certain thinking. We fought in a very politically correct way after that. We always had the strongest military and now we have a stronger military than we ever had before. But we have settled 8 wars in 8 months. I'm now including this one, by the way. They may say, 'Well, that was quick,' but yesterday I was saying 7 but now I can say 8. The hostages are back."
"Settled"?
Israel's great challenge after the phase of returning the hostages will be the destruction of all of Hamas's terror tunnels in Gaza, directly by the IDF and through the international mechanism to be established under the leadership and supervision of the United States.

This is the primary significance of implementing the agreed-upon principle of demilitarizing Gaza and neutralizing Hamas of its weapons.

I have instructed the IDF to prepare for carrying out the mission.
They got their hostages back. What “peace plan”?
“Netanyahu has not gone so far as to say the war is over,” a reporter aboard Air Force One asked Trump Sunday. “In your view, is the war between Israel and Hamas over?”

“The war is over!” Trump responded. “The war is over, the war is over! Do you understand that?”
Who's gonna tell him? I mean, the guy thinks he’s at a MAGA rally. How’s he gonna feel when Israel blows up his next shot at a peace prize?
Trump to Israeli Knesset: "I have an idea -- Mr President, why don't give him a pardon? Give him a pardon. By the way, that was not in the speech as you probably know, but I happen to like this gentleman right over here and it just seems to make so much sense. Whether we like it or not, this has been one of the greatest wartime presidents. And cigars and champagne -- who the hell cares about that?"
Sun must be going down in Israel. Never responsible for anything; only deserving of accolades.
