But he’s gonna win a third term! Everybody says so!Donald Trump is historically unpopular for a reason.
— Gavin Newsom (@GavinNewsom) November 2, 2025
He has betrayed the American people.
Beef is up.
Coffee is up.
Car prices are up.
Utility bills are up.
And healthcare is about to triple.
He’s done nothing but make Americans poorer and sicker. pic.twitter.com/NY2TcoUlx1
Well, until they stopped saying so.New in PN: Trump couldn't (legitimately) win a third term If he tried

"What’s astonishing about the media’s 'third term' coverage is how it doesn’t clearly state the obvious: Voters are openly rejecting Trump, as seen in poll after poll." https://t.co/O9RmqQjN6Z
Meanwhile, Ted Cruz keeps trying to make “fetch” happen."Trump’s Cabinet might claim their mad king is the epitome of health during their NK-style praise sessions, but nobody else is drinking that Kool-Aid. And while Trump insists he’s reducing prices in mathematically impossible ways, voters aren’t buying it" https://t.co/O9RmqQjN6Z

Newsom: This is a historically unpopular president. His policies are more unpopular than the president himself. In every core category, he's underwater and he's the guy who promised to make us healthier and wealthier, we're poorer and sicker. Not only is coffee more expensive, the beef is more expensive, the cost of an automobile is more expensive and all of the things he promised to solve day one, he hasn't solved. His recklessness aside and his style aside, he hasn't delivered and that's why we're here, prop 50 because he knows he'll lose the midterms and he's trying to rig the election before one vote is cast.I’m pretty sure it’s illegal to say that.
The interesting bit is, that somebody still has to say that. Out loud. Because it’s just objectively true.GOV. @GavinNewsom: “I don’t say this lightly — I don’t believe Trump believes in free and fair elections.” pic.twitter.com/4vSuGBUcU2

It's not only true of Trump, it's true of the entire Republican Party from sometime around or near December 2000 when the Supreme Court appointed Bush II as their chosen president. It's a hell of a long time ago that ANY Republicans voted for the Voting Rights Act extension and their "justices" have been repealing it ever since. Even in my state they're trying to get rid of the widely used absentee voting tomorrow. And in Maine lots and lots of our disproportionately large old People voters use it. Not to mention those like the retired trucker in the pro-voting ads here who points out most years if he didn't vote absentee he wouldn't have been able to vote.
