WHITEHOUSE: In your recent testimony, you referred to authorized DOJ activities as "spying." Have you ever done that before?— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) May 1, 2019
BARR: I don't think the term has any pejorative connotation. I think spying is a good English word that in fact doesn't have synonyms. It was off the cuff pic.twitter.com/onqXGogxGt
"I don't have all that fancy Eastern book-larnin' an' a thee-soar-us on mah desk. I jes' use plain words an' ah call 'em as ah sees 'em!"
And by the way, what is the definition of "is"?

This whole thing reminds me of Hamlet parrying with Guildenstern culminating in him saying, "It is as easy as lying." Whitehouse, Hirono, a few of the others are the only ones I can stand to hear on the Senate Judiciary Committee. In some ways it's not as bad as the days when Biden ran it and "comity" seemed to be their greatest concern, in most ways, it's worse under the Republicans. Who needs an emetic when there's the Senate Judiciary Committee.
