Key line from Cipollone’s letter, which was just transmitted to the Judiciary Committee: pic.twitter.com/bBm0qEsz2W— Andrew Desiderio (@AndrewDesiderio) December 2, 2019
Have these guys never read a lawyer letter before? Weaselspeak is the first thing they teach in law school. That's not a "key line," that's a "never say never out loud" line. You don't want the court to think you're completely unreasonable (you always write a public document for a client with "the court" in mind); especially when you are.
WH to Judiciary Committee: “Accordingly, under the current circumstances, we do not intend to participate in your Wednesday hearing.”— Nicholas Fandos (@npfandos) December 2, 2019

It's something in the water, thinking this kind of boilerplate is secret code or that you're extra special clever to read the eye blinks in Morse code.
Real life really is like high school; and no one is ever sitting at the cool table. But the teachers have left the building.
